MORGANTOWN, WV-The latest issue of Pipeline, a free National Small Flows Clearinghouse (NSFC) newsletter, is now online at www.nesc.wvu.edu/nsfc/nsfc_pipeline.htm

Pipeline is written for a general audience, and each issue explains a wastewater technology or theme of interest to local officials and community residents. The articles are presented in an easy-to-read, nontechnical style, and each issue includes a list of contacts and resources.

"Septic Tank Enhancement" (Fall 2003, Volume 14, No. 4, Item # SFPNNL35) investigates some of the options available to enhance the efficiency of your septic tank or to make maintenance practices more convenient. The size and configuration of the septic tank itself is discussed as well as any special installation considerations. The benefits of using baffles and tees, effluent filters, access ports, gas vents, and greasetraps are presented with photos and diagrams of several of these enhancements.
