Army Corps of Engineers Brigadier General Brings Water and Ecosystems
Expertise to CH2M HILL.

ATLANTA: Brigadier General Peter T. Madsen has joined CH2M HILL
as vice president and program manager for water resources and ecosystem
management. Based in CH2M HILLs Atlanta office, retired Brig.
Gen. Madsen will focus on business development and senior oversight
to many of the firms major ecosystem and water projects.
Madsens 28-year career with the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Corps
of Engineers included leadership and management of flood control,
environmental restoration, navigation and military construction
projects throughout the Southeast, Southwest, Texas, and Central
and South America.
Key projects included the $8 billion Everglades Restoration Program,
conceptual design for future Panama Canal expansion, and Californias
CALFED Bay-Delta program. Throughout his career, he provided construction
and engineering support to more than 70 military installations nationwide
and in Department Of Defense contingency operations in Somalia.
Issues related to water resource and ecosystems management
will continue to grow in importance throughout the coming years.

Peter is a tremendous asset to the firm. His experience, knowledge,

Bob Bailey.
Immediately prior to joining CH2M HILL, Madsen was commander and
division engineer of the Corps South Atlantic Division. His
career also included command positions in the South Pacific Division
(San Francisco) and the Fort Worth (Texas) District.
Madsen is a fellow in the Society of American Military Engineers
and a member of the Association of the U.S. Army, the Army Engineer
Association, and the Military Officers Association of America. He
also served on the Industry Advisory Board to the Construction Executive
Program at Texas A&M University.
A Registered Professional Engineer, Madsen received a masters
degree in Civil Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology,
a masters in Military Strategy from National Defense University,
and a bachelors degree from the United States Military Academy.
